Hi Daphne,
1) Any of Adagio Invoices, Quik Invoice for Windows, or Quik Invoice Plus for DOS are OK under Windows 2000.
Quik Invoice for DOS relies on the Accpac Plus System Manager for 'compatibility' with Windows. Make sure you are up to date with the System Manager if you are concerned with problems on this new computer.
Quik Invoice for Windows (now discontinued) and Adagio Invoices (the second generation of Quik Invoice foe Windows) both should be fine on Windows 2000 as well. Because these are Windows applications, make sure they are installed correctly based on the User Profiles that can be defined for Windows NT, 2000, or XP.
2) The page settings on the invoice specification are completely separate than those defined on the Windows printer driver. If you wish to print invoices on a non-standard page size (such as 8.5 x 7") you have to set the Custom size on both the driver and the invoice spec.
If your driver does not allow a Custom page size, you will need to try a different driver.
If you are using a dot-matrix printer rather than a laser printer, you also need to be able to set the page size (form width and length) on the printer itself in addition to the driver and the spec. For example, if your invoices are 7" long, you have to be able to set a form feed of 7" on the printer via menus or dip-switches to get the invoice to print correctly. This is because of the differences of Page Breaks between Windows programs and the DOS-based dot-matrix printer.
You might also want to try the Generic/Text printer driver with dot matrix, which allows Custom sizes.
Regards,
