Hi Dalip,
I won't be able to answer specifically about AP checks and printing checks on a laser printer (since AP isn't our product), but I can give you some tips on printing to a laser printer in general.
- Laser printers have a pre-defined top and bottom margin of about 1/2 inch each, so depending on the type of printer you have, you have to design the specification to be only 10 to 10-1/2 tall for an 11 inch form.
- AP check specs have a setting as to the maximum number of advice details that can print on a single advice, before the overflow to a second page. This number is calculated backwards by taking the total page height (say 10 inches) and subtracting the check height and both advice headers and footers, and inally dividing by the detail section height. The number will usually be in the 12-15 range. You may have to reduce the number you have in your spec by 1 to 3.
- Make sure that your printer is properly defined in the System Manager toolbox.
If printing to a laser is important among other features, you may want to take a look at Adagio Payables. It has the ability of printing checks on a laser printer with either check stock or even plain paper! You can use this with Accpac AP without data conversion, and even simulaneously with AP6.5A if desired. If this sounds interesting, you can either request a free Sampler CD to try on your own, with a copy of your data, or go through the visual tour we have on our website.
