How do I change the fiscal year after closing? I changed the year under maintenance to 2007 and clicked okay, but the year did not change.

Is this Adagio Ledger version 9.0A? If so, then fiscal calendars are not changed but simply added to. If you take a database where the current year is 2007 and the next year is 2008, then perform all the required Year End Processing functions, the 2007 year will no disappear. It will still be available because all the net changes and transaction details are still available.

From the Edit menu, you can find the Fiscal Calendar. If you have run the Close Current Fiscal Year function, then you will see fiscal calendars for both years 2007 and 2008.

If you are using a version of Adagio Ledger version 8.1A or earlier, then the Change Fiscal Year function will indeed change the starting and ending dates of the fiscal calendar, which is found in the company profile. However, it will not change the descriptions of the fiscal periods - these have to be changed manually to reflect the new year. Perhaps this is all that you are finding; that the fiscal period descriptions should say 2008 instead of 2007.

BTW, this manual editing of the fiscal period descriptions is no longer necessary in Ledger 9.0A.
