Is there any way the screen can remain in the same position when you go into edit a vendor rather than revert to the the first vendor on your list? Eg. editing "Smith Company". Once complete and I hit ok, the screen brings me back to "AAA Glass" and I have to scroll through the screen to get back down to the "S" section.

AP shouldn't work that way. What version are you using? Go to Help | About and tell us the AP version and date. It would look something like "8.1C (100810)".

Hi, Diane,

Have you checked to ensure that your data integrity is clean? Make sure you have a backup first (in case you need to restore it after), then run Data Integrity Check. If the Rebuild button presents itself, click it. Make sure you review your vendors after doing a rebuild to ensure everything is as you expect it should be. Retry editing a vendor and ensure that is the vendor that is highlighted when you click OK.

If not, we'll probably need more information about your data: vendor code formats, number of vendors and profile options, etc. and you might want to contact your Adagio dealer to assist you.

Also, please retain a copy of your pre-AP8.0C backup.

Just to be clear, are you Editing an existing vendor or Adding a new one? If adding, the new vendor isn't automatically highlighted; the vendor that was highlighted when you chose "Add" remains highlighted. This often means the first vendor in the list. This behaviour will likely change in the next version (it was just changed in the Receivables module shipping this week).

I have the same problem with my AP database. We run DataCare daily so their's nothing wrong with the data. Filter's maybe.

I can't re-create the problem with sample data.

Hi, Diane,

Is it possible that you have a Filter active and that, when you edit the vendor, you are changing something related to the active filter? For example, if the vendor no longer meets the active filter's criteria, it will drop off the displayed list and the focus will return to the first vendor in the list. Or, perhaps the number of vendors that meet the filter criteria is very long and when the filter is rerun when you complete your edit this forces the focus to be on the first vendor in the list.

Hi, Carol,

Please see my prior post. Are you using filters when you do the edits? As Bruce asked, are you editing or adding a new vendor?

I haven't reproduced this problem using sample data or other data. However, when I have an active filter, I can reproduce it for the reasons explained previously. Filters are refreshed when you edit the Vendor list.

Can you provide more information?

Data integrity is good. Editing not adding. Just to be clear (it is a little difficult explaining this). Let's say I go to customer Williams, which I have to scroll through a few pages of customers to get to, I double click on their account, edit something, click ok, the screen with all the customers reverts back to the first page of customers. I then have to scroll down through all of the customers to find the next customer on the list. I have not added filters, just started using Adagio and don't quite know how yet. Cannot recreate in Sample Data.

OK - I was able to re-create this, and now its gone away. (apparently for good).

Here's what I did.

When the problem occurred, I had filters turned off (the check box blank). Then I turned filters turned on (the check box ticked), but had no filter chosen (the unamed blank entry at the top of the list), and the program started correctly positioning to the edited Vendor.

I cannot get it to fail any longer, even with a machine reboot.

Thanks for the solution Andrew. I think I can narrow this down further. If you deselect the filter while still having a filter selected (non-blank filter name) the problem occurs. Setting the filter name to blank firts prevents the problem from occurring.

When I open the Vendor List screen - Filters are unchecked and no styles are set.
I scroll down, double click on a vendor to edit.
Click OK.
The venodr that is now highlighted is the top one.
When a new vendor is created - it is the same. When you click OK it bounces back to the top of the vendor list.
This is consistent every time - and only since the AP upgrade.
DIC is clean
But I do see that when the three sample filters that came with the upgrade are deleted - the results are "normal"
So - if there are filters in place but not in use it will rise back to the top.
And now the question is - why is this not happening in AR.

Turning filters on, but having NO filter selected fixes the problem permanently it seems. Please try the steps again. There's likely an uninitialized variable in the AP grid which isn't in the AR grid (which shipped later).
