Hi Rob,

With Ledger 6.8, there is a file contained in your data directory called ADSPROF that is used for locating the eztasks (multi-user locking) and the currency files. The file used to be called EZCURFIL.ld4 back when the version was 6.5. In either case, these text files contain locations to the two system files. If you use Accpac as well as Adagio, you will want to enter x:\ASP for both (where x is the drive that Accpac is installed). If you only use Adagio, then enter x:\softrak\system.

Sample data may be working fine because the paths contained in it's ADSPROF data file is valid, but the ADSPROF in your live data is no longer valid. You have two options:

- Copy the ADSPROF from your sample data directory and paste it to the directory that contains your live data (overwriting the existing file).
- Delete the ADSPROF file in your live data. The next time you start any Adagio program it will be recreated. A prompt will ask you to enter location of the eztasks/currency files.

The times I have seen the 'Error 1305' have either been due to the EZTASKS file not found in the ADSPROF path, or the EZTASKS path is being locked by another process. The latter case could be because you are using Accpac Plus and do not have any WSM Lanpaks installed (this scenario locks the EZTASKS file to the exclusion of any other process).

Hello Rob Alford,

Does your new computer have different drive letters? Delete the file ADSPROF.xxx (where xxx is your data selector) from your data directory. The next time you launch Adagio, you will be asked for the location of your currency and task files. Perhaps they moved when you set up the new computer.

You should also run the program CHKSYS.EXE from the \softrak\system directory to make sure that everything else is set up correctly on your new machine.

Hello Rob Alford,

From my (and Warren's) post:

Sample data may be working fine because the paths contained in it's ADSPROF data file is valid, but the ADSPROF in your live data is no longer valid. You have two options:

- Copy the ADSPROF from your sample data directory and paste it to the directory that contains your live data (overwriting the existing file).
- Delete the ADSPROF file in your live data. The next time you start any Adagio program it will be recreated. A prompt will ask you to enter location of the eztasks/currency files.

So - it is the ADSPROF.xxx (where xxx is your data selector) that needs to be reset (not EZCURFIL). You must have changed the drive letters or directory layout on your new computer.

As a note, there is no need to install each of the Ledger version in turn. When faced with this situation, you can just install from the most recent release.

Hello Rob Alford,

Your post said that you were copying EZCURL (presumably EZCURFIL). Are you saying you saw the same problem when copied ADSPROF?

Hi Rob,

Try getting rid of both ezcomfil and ezcurfil in addition to ADSPROF. If you only remove ADSPROF, it will attempt to recreate itself based on the information in the other 2 files.

The reason for the 'Error 1305 - unknown DOS error accessing eztasks file' is because another process (such as Accpac Plus) is locking that file. Try finding the eztasks.ld4 file (in the directory you are entering) and rename it; if you are unable to it means that you either don't have Permissions to write to the file (which you require) or the file has been locked and inaccessible.

My guess is that you delete ADSPROF and enter the path, this is the correct step, but another process is getting in the way.
1) Do you use Accpac Plus?
2) Do you have any Lanpaks for Accpac installed?

If the answer to 1) is 'Yes' and 2) is 'No', and you are entering \ASP as the location of eztasks, this is the reason for your error. Accpac Plus locks the eztasks file to the exclusion of any other process (including itself!) with any Lanpaks installed.

Try entering \softrak\system as the paths, instead of \asp.
