You have not missed a procedure, but at the same time this is how Crystal Reports works. Crystal cannot automatically select default values, even though you've added new values in the database field you are browsing. The reason you see the newly created job on the left is that you've selected to browse a field, rather than simply type in values.

In any case, this is functionality strictly based on Crystal reports and has nothing to do with the database being read, be it Accpac Plus, Adagio, Access, Excel or any other.
