Technically, only you need the copy with the signature. The customer has the goods.

Can you print a 7 inch form from Word? Does the printer have specific switch settings to set the form length?

All I can suggest, is to return to the printer manufacturer's home page and make sure you have downloaded and installed their most up to date printer driver for using their printer under Windows XP. Make sure that the Windows printer driver specifies a 7 inch form as its default. Print a one line page from notepad to make sure the setting is correct.

Make sure that this printer is set as the default printer for the workstation. make sure that the specification has "custom form" and a seven inch page depth. If this doesn't work, then you'll have to call in your local business partner.

Sorry.

One of the hardest things to do is to get any windows application to print to a DOT Matrix printer. It is even more difficult when you want to print to a short form. When Bill Gates wrote windows he specifically wrote it for Laser printers (that only print standard paper sizes).

It's unfortunate that you bought a new printer, likely this was not required. Assuming that you only use the printer in question to print the 7" forms set the printers internal memory to 7" paper length.

When you press a form feed on the new printer, does it eject 7" or 11"? If it spits out 11", then there sometimes are settings/changes you have to make on the printer itself - not just software or printer driver changes.

Can you preview an invoice rather than printing? If so, does the paper size appear to be 7" long or 11" - ie is the length shorter or longer than the width? If the preview appears to be 7" long (length shorter than width), this means that the software side is dealing with the paper length properly, and the 11" page ejection is more 'hardware' related to settings.

Actually it should not be necessary to changethe hardwrae, in this case nothing else seems to be working so this is worth a try.

If previewing the specification makes the form appear to be 11", then the form length is not correctly set on either the invoice specification or the printer driver. Good to hear the printer form feed itself is OK.

On a previous posting, a screen shot of the place to change the form length within the Adagio specification designer was submitted. Make sure that the change was saved. You may also want to (temporarily) change the specification title (on the same screen) to make sure you are testing with the correct spec file. Note also that print preview from within the spec designer program is also a test you can do to determine the correct page height is working.

The printer driver must also set the page length to 7". You could also test with the 'Generic/Text' driver, rather than the factory driver.

There won't be any use to printing to paper until you see the preview screen change and show a shorter form.
