Hi All,

I'm trying to import a batch into the GL. We are using GL 8.1A. I'm importing in CSV, and doing the Header and Detail. I have the seperator as a comma (,) and am validating before import.

When I try and import, I keep on getting the error message "Record 2 is a batch header record with no details in the import file."

I am importing all fields in their default order, and have an H in the Hdr-Record Type and a D in the Det-Record Type.

What do I need to change to make this import work?

Hard to say without looking at the file. Try comparing your file to the one found in the sample data folder (\Softrak\Ledger\Glhdbtchim.CSV) to see if anything differences jump out.

That sample file is great. I see what I did wrong.

I got the detail only one to work in the mean time, but this will definately help going forward.

The format of a 'Header Detail' import file would look something like this:
H, field, field,...
D, field, field,...
D, field, field,...

The format of a 'Detail only' import file woud look something like this:
H, field, field, D, field, field,...
H, field, field, D, field, field,...

I suspect that you are mis-matching the import file to the template type, and using a file layout in the latter case. Ryan's suggestion to compare the sample files is good, to ensure you are picking the correct template type.
