Hi All,

I was recently given the task of changing the Salesperson codes for all our customers. I added the new Salesperson Codes in AR (via edit>salespersons). I exported the data in AR, made the changes and imported it back in. Everything looked like it worked fine. When you go in and look at the customers in AR or OE the new salesperson code is what you get. The problem is that when an order is entered it is booked to the old salesperson code. So my question is did I miss something when making these changes. How do I get the orders to reflect the new salesperson code without making the change in every order.

We are on AR version 9.1A and OE 8.1F

Hi Clint,

Do you use Ship-to Codes? Salesperson codes can be entered there and override what is on the customer record.
If you just want to use values from the customer on orders, leave the fields on the ship-to address record blank.

We do use ship to codes. I have looked at them in order entry and they are in fact the old salesperson codes. Do you know where I can edit these codes. I have exported the OE and AR data dictionary but cannot locate the table that corresponds with the ship to information. I have gridview RW so its just a matter of locating the data

Hi Clint,

Ship-to address codes can be exported and re-imported in AR. This is the 'safer' route to resetting salesperson codes.
The table name would be Contacts, as both ship-tos and contacts are stored in the same file. To do this kind of inquiry, you can use the DataDictionaryExporter.exe utility in the \softrak\system folder to create a table and field list as an Excel workbook.
