Order Import Question

Order Import Question - 09/04/18 01:34 PM

Good day,

We are using Order Entry 9.2A (160707) and when one salesperson is using the File > Import > Orders menu to import a CSV file, the other salespeople are locked out and cannot import orders at the same time.

Is this because the data file is in use already? Can multiple users use the import function at the same time?

Sincerely,
Terrence

Hi Terrence

I'm pretty sure the answers to your questions are yes and no, in that order. That's just the way the software is designed.

Many of my clients don't have their salespeople import Orders into OrderEntry, but rather into SalesCQ, so that they can be reviewed and then promoted into sales orders. This is especially helpful when the customer code isn't known by the salesperson, because you can import into SalesCQ using a catchall customer and then as they are promoted, get assigned to the proper customer.

Hi,
As further reinforcement, we do exactly as Steve suggests. A proven solution.

We use SalesCQ as the landing zone for order imports, (review and audit), and then release into Order Entry.

SalesCQ is such a natural solution for a landing zone from any webstore into Adagio Order Entry, we're surprised more people are not using it. Combine that with Link2Systems' Payments on Orders that deals with the credit card payments (coming in to Adagio) in the shopping cart portion of your webstore, and you have nailed the webstore integration.

Best,
Brian
