A client had their profiles setup to define a default save location, filename format and preview behaviour and this was working until a couple of months ago.

Now the profile appears to be ignored and the data directory comes up as the save location, with no PDF preview.

Has the profiles feature in Nova been disabled?

Are they running ePrint or using the AdagioPDF printer?

Using the AdagioPDF printer...this is a 'toe in the water' attempt at paperless operation.

The AdagioPDF printer always saves the output file in the data Folder. For complete control of where each report is named and saved, Adagio ePrint provides that functionality.

You can see this if you install the Client NFR at the site.

I'm aware of the ePrint functionality...just needed to confirm that the NovaPDF profiles are being overridden.

I can switch them to CutePDF while I continue to extol the benefits of ePrint!

Sorry, don't know the answer to your question.

Andrew - I believe you already answered Tony's question and he was merely pointing out that until/unless they decide to purchase eP, he will switch them to using a free .pdf driver that allows the default file storage location to be remembered - such as CutePDF.

Tony - while extoling the benefits of eP, remember to include the fact that no one has to spend the employee time to collect the physical report off the printer and then physically file (or worse yet misfile) it. That's a saving that I think is often overlooked but can be significant when one considers a full eP implementation across several modules.

When using AdagioPDF, there should only be one profile on the 'Nova' (AdagioPDF) driver - the default one. If not, then there is a potential for reports to fail when using the AdagioPDF driver.

If you view the AdagioPDF properties and notice that there are multiple profiles, make the default profile active and delete the rest of them. The names of the other profiles might give a clue as to what process incorrectly saved an additional profile, such as a report name. I've run into this before on my own laptop.

Hi Pete,

I think that Tony's clients will find (as we did) that having ALL reports saved in a single Folder quickly results in an unmanageable set of files.

At the AOC we'll be showing ePrint functionality that will quickly justify its purchase.
